The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 (Bokuyaba) has crowned its domination in Winter 2024 by ranking first for the 12th week, completing the first season sweep in the history of our anime ranking. This week was also its highest vote percentage of the season, taking 14.02% in the week that had the most people participating (21,809). Behind it were two incredible final episodes, The Apothecary Diaries and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.

Prior to the historical achievement, the anime broke the record previously held by BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War (the anime was first for 9 weeks in a row back in Fall 2022, before Mob Psycho 100 broke its streak). Another interesting fact is that, after a slow start, the anime also won the last 4 weeks in our Spring 2023 anime rankings. It topped week 9, week 10, week 11 and week 12, which means the anime actually won with 16 consecutive episodes.
Studio Shin-Ei Animation is animating the The Dangers in My Heart (Bokuyaba) sequel. Hiroaki Akagi is directing, and he also directed the first season which premiered in April 2023. Jukki Hanada is in charge of the scripts and series composition. Masato Katsumata is the character designer, with Kensuke Ushio on the music.
The cast also returned for the sequel, featuring Hina Yomiya and Shun Horie as the main duo Anna Yamada and Kyotaro Ichikawa. The second season will conclude with episode 13, which premieres tomorrow (March 30).
The anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the title in English, while HIDIVE is streaming the anime. They describe the story:
Fascinated by the macabre, Kyotaro fantasizes about acting on his twisted thoughts to the detriment of his classmates. His heart was dark until an encounter with Anna lit a spark within it in a classic tale of boy meets girl.
