Get Started
You can use Kinsta to host your database and connect it directly to your application. We currently offer the following database types to fulfill various data storage needs:
- Redis 5.0, 6.x and 7.x
- MariaDB 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.11, 11.0 and 11.1
- PostgreSQL 9.6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17
- MySQL 8.0 and 9.0
- Valkey 7.2
You can connect a database to one or more applications or run a database by itself. If you create an internal connection between an application and a database at Kinsta, they communicate through a secure connection that performs better than an external connection. There’s no charge for internal traffic between applications and databases hosted at Kinsta.

Database backups
We provide automatic daily backups for Database Hosting that are stored for 7 days. You can also manually create up to 5 manual backups, which are stored for 14 days. You can restore either an automatic or manual backup at any time on your database’s Backups page.
When a database backup is restored, all changes to the database will be rolled back to the time the backup was created.
