Blue Exorcist anime is based on a manga by Kazue Katou. It started serialization in Jump Square magazine in 2009. The first anime season aired in Spring 2011, but it featured an anime original final arc (episodes 16-25). In 2012, a Blue Exorcist movie was released.
The second season was titled Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga and aired in Winter 2017. It ignored the anime-only arc from the prequel and continued to adapt the manga’s storyline. There is also a side-story titled Blue Exorcist: Kuro’s Trip Away From Home, as well as 2 OVA episodes from season 2. A-1 Pictures animated the whole adaptation. The main cast includes:
- Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rin Okumura
- Jun Fukuyama as Yukio Okumura
- Kana Hanazawa as Shiemi Moriyama
- Eri Kitamura as Izumo Kamiki
The manga is available to read on MangaPLUS, and you can read its synopsis below:
